From the moment he stepped onto campus, Little Rock native Luke Beck has balanced a full academic load with hands-on work at the intersection of AI, software development and government operations. A senior Honors College Fellow majoring in Innovation & Entrepreneurship in the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business, he has steadily expanded that work into something bigger.
He serves as a Technical Product Associate at Ordinal, a GovTech AI startup, where he develops and scales tools that help municipalities navigate regulatory complexity. At the same time, he leads IFortyNine, the consulting and product development firm he founded, managing multiple client engagements and a small development team focused on AI-driven solutions, software development and technical due diligence.
“I realized there are few people who combine strong software engineering skills with a genuine interest in government compliance,” Beck said. “That’s where I’ve found real opportunity. I enjoy taking thousands of pages of regulations and using AI to build solutions that can help governments operate more effectively at scale.”
Beck plans to combine his technical background with his passion for startups, building ventures focused on using AI and software development to solve operational and regulatory challenges across industries.
