Process
Application Timeline and Selection Process
Sophomore and junior students may apply in mid-fall. Interviews are conducted from mid-November through early spring, with acceptance notifications issued in mid-spring.
Applicants must be academically qualified to participate in the Program, as determined by the Finance Department or Walton College.
To apply, students must submit:
- Academic transcripts
- A current résumé
- Documentation of the number of mock and actual interviews completed
Interview Process
Phase Two of the selection process consists of three to four short interviews. Interviews are conducted by faculty members, program alumni, advisors, and/or friends of the Alts Program.
Requirements
Eligibility Requirements
The program is open to Finance majors. Students from other majors may apply; however, if admitted, they must change their major to Finance.
Applicants must meet the following academic standards:
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative UARK GPA
- Minimum 3.6 Finance GPA
- Minimum 3.6 GPA across all Finance and Accounting coursework
Class Standing Requirements
- Sophmores: Must be on track to meet the GPA requirements listed above and may interview with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
- Juniors: Must have completed Intermediate Accounting I prior to enrolling in the Alts course.
- Note: For the Fall 2026 cohort, Intermediate Accounting I may be taken as a co-requisite.
- Transfer Credits: Must complete at least one semester of coursework at UARK before applying.
All eligibility requirements are determined by the Finance Department or Walton College and are verified prior to the start of the Alts class.
