Congrats to our 11 UARK Students who attended Nation Model United Nations Galapagos over break, where the students spent 10 days exploring Ecuador! Starting in Quito at El Mitad Del Mundo (The Middle of the World) seeing the equator, then heading to San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos. @nmunarkansas When they arrived in San Cristobal, they began their 3 day NMUN conference, bringing home at least one award per student! With 5 outstanding delegates, 2 outstanding position papers, and 4 outstanding delegations for Ethiopia, Japan, Portugal and Spain, they could not be more excited!! After conference, they were able to explore the Galapagos, hiking up El Junco, snorkeling at Kicker Rock and cleaning up the island on Thanksgiving! A note from the team: “We wouldn’t be anywhere without our advisor Dr. Stapp, Jason Adams, and our donors, and we are incredibly thankful for this opportunity to represent @uarkansas globally!”

Honored to have collaborated with the amazing @jacksondwalton on his thesis work which explores the impact of community banks on financial literacy and financial well-being. As I mentioned in the article: “Jackson’s research choice perfectly mirrors his approach to life, one which is grounded in serving others and intentionally investing in your community”. Jackson was an outstanding student of mine in my @cimbaitaly seminar, received a research grant for his thesis work in the @walton_honors and @uarkhonors program, and is now a good friend and role model for me. You are missed on our campus Jackson!
