Q&A with Nick:
What is a Walton College resource that helped you jumpstart your post college career?
A key resource was the Walton Career Center’s resume workshop. The career advisor's feedback helped me present my skills and achievements in a way that stood out to recruiters. This workshop, along with other career center resources, played a crucial role in helping me secure internships and ultimately land a spot at Starbucks.
What’s a piece of advice you would give to younger students who are starting their job search?
One piece of advice I would give is to never be afraid to reach out to someone—whether it’s a recruiter, a professional, or even a fellow student who has gone through the process. The worst thing someone can say is no, but more often than not, people are willing to share their experiences and offer guidance. Networking is one of the most powerful tools in securing internships and job opportunities.
What is your favorite WCOB class?
My favorite class was Financial Modeling with Professor Alejandro Pacheco. This course provided hands-on experience in building financial models, analyzing data, and making strategic business decisions using Excel. The class challenged me to think critically and improve my technical skills, which have been invaluable in my internships and will continue to be beneficial in my career.
