Q&A with Brianna:
How has your campus involvement shaped your college experience?
As a freshman, I got involved by becoming a campus ambassador giving tours to prospective students, which eventually led to becoming a chancellor ambassador. Through that role, I assisted with tailgates, receptions, and events, meeting Arkansas alumni and even the University pilot who later licensed me as a private pilot. These experiences showed me how far saying yes to one opportunity can take you and have brought me many of the connections and great friendships I have today.
What’s a Walton College resource you’ve found helpful?
The people – all of them. My peers, professors, advisors, and other Walton staff are what have made my college experience so great. Through these people I’ve found advice, guidance, support, and help expanding my network. Every single person is so genuine about wanting to see you succeed and fostering these relationships is so valuable, even beyond graduation.
What experiences inside the classroom have shaped your academic or career path so far?
The hands-on activities and collaborative projects with my peers have been some of the most positive experiences. I have learned from the perspectives of others, applied what we’ve learned in the classroom during simulations and activities, and with off-campus activities, even seen what we’re learning about in real environments. These are the things that continue to keep me engaged and excited about learning in class and feel prepared to enter the workforce.
