Ph.D. Assistantships
Forms of Funding
Most students admitted to a Walton College Ph.D. program receive funding in the form of a graduate assistantship (GA). A GA provides a full tuition waiver, reduced student health insurance premium, and a monthly stipend. Students work 20 hours per week on assigned departmental duties that may vary each semester and include assisting with courses, teaching, or conducting research. Highly competitive applicants may also be eligible for additional University-level fellowship funding. Graduate Assistantships and University Fellowships are awarded for a set period of time provided students continue to make successful academic progress.
