For the past few years, SAKE (Students Acquiring Knowledge through Enterprise) students have been marketing gift boxes for various occasions to parents of students at the University of Arkansas.

Three years ago, students in SAKE extended this idea to create and market the Hungry Hog box: a donation box to provide food to the on-campus food pantry. During the first 5 weeks of the semester, SAKE students sold enough Hungry Hogs to make a donation of almost $3500 in food and personal care items to the Full Circle Food Pantry. This is the largest donation made by students to date and will help meet the needs of students and staff members who are food insecure. SAKE students delivered the purchased goods to the pantry last week. Walton students continue to make a difference in our campus community!

SAKE is a class in the Walton College that provides students with the opportunity to run a business, Forever-Red. Additional information about the class and the business can be found on the business website, Forever-Red.com.
