The CSCMP Board of Directors were in Northwest Arkansas last week – March 14th through the 15th - at the CSCMP Supply Chain Hall of Fame, hosted by the University of Arkansas and its executive director Remko van Hoek.

The Board discussed the upcoming year and their strategic initiatives for 2024 and beyond. Before getting down to business, however, they were joined by members of the Ozark CSCMP and the Supply Chain Management Research Center at the University of Arkansas for a reception on Wednesday evening welcoming them to the area and introducing them to local members of the supply chain community.

The University of Arkansas and Arkestro announced the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP’s) Supply Chain Hall of Fame, hosted by the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, will be the first host for Arkestro’s Museum of Procurement.

Arkestro’s Museum of Procurement is an interactive, modular exhibit highlighting notable procurement professionals through the ages and reproductions of influential procurement documents and instruments from around the world. It chronicles the evolution of the procurement function from the first goods receipt from Babylon written in cuneiform to the invention of the general ledger and to double entry accounting, ultimately concluding with the invention of ERP systems and the creation of the Internet.

The CSCMP Board of Directors were in Northwest Arkansas last week – March 14th through the 15th - at the CSCMP Supply Chain Hall of Fame, hosted by the University of Arkansas and its executive director Remko van Hoek.

The Board discussed the upcoming year and their strategic initiatives for 2024 and beyond. Before getting down to business, however, they were joined by members of the Ozark CSCMP and the Supply Chain Management Research Center at the University of Arkansas for a reception on Wednesday evening welcoming them to the area and introducing them to local members of the supply chain community.

The University of Arkansas and Arkestro announced the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP’s) Supply Chain Hall of Fame, hosted by the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, will be the first host for Arkestro’s Museum of Procurement.

Arkestro’s Museum of Procurement is an interactive, modular exhibit highlighting notable procurement professionals through the ages and reproductions of influential procurement documents and instruments from around the world. It chronicles the evolution of the procurement function from the first goods receipt from Babylon written in cuneiform to the invention of the general ledger and to double entry accounting, ultimately concluding with the invention of ERP systems and the creation of the Internet.
