Full-time MBA students Vasu Chawla, Madeleine Corbell, Brock Davis, Gina Monaldi and Cara Woelffer share their experiences securing their internships as a part of the full-time Walton MBA program.

Internships are incredibly valuable to full-time Walton MBA students. Students gain beneficial work experience based on their interests. “Students have the opportunity to explore a potential career path and give themselves a competitive edge in the job market based on the skills they’ve learned,” said Lindsey Steiger-Muck, MBA assistant director. Vasu Chawla, Madeleine Corbell, Brock Davis, Gina Monaldi and Cara Woelffer share their internship experiences.

Vasu Chawla

Internship with Shurtape Technologies

Vasu Chawla Vasu Chawla found his internship through the MBA Career Fair Day, held for the Walton MBA Class of 2022. “The MBA Program was critical in securing my internship,” he said.

His specific responsibilities will include sales, e-commerce, and supply chain to support the Walmart team. Chawla says he wants to learn as much as he can in this new role. “I want to learn how those three areas play a vital role in a company’s success when everything is always so dynamic, especially in a pandemic.”

Chawla holds a B.S.B.A. in accounting and finance from the University of Arkansas. He is currently following the business analytics track, with additional classes in marketing.

Madeleine Corbell

Internship with UpSpring

Madeleine CorbellMadeleine Corbell found her internship through a Walton MBA recruiting event. She originally applied for an internship in supply chain,  but after she mentioned her interest in finance, she was offered a financial analytics internship.

Corbell said she is thrilled for this opportunity. “I am excited to work with a growing company like Upspring where I will be a direct part of growth and will benefit from hands-on experience with a variety of departments.” She hopes to gain invaluable professional, personal and technical skills as she continues to fine-tune her career interests.

Corbell holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Arkansas. She is following the finance track in the MBA program.

Brock Davis

Internship with Nielsen

Brock DavisBrock Davis obtained his internship through Walton MBA Career Day. “Walton MBA played a huge role in helping me acquire this internship through facilitating conversations with potential employers,” he said.

Davis hopes that his internship with Nielsen will give him great hands-on experience with data that can translate across a wide range of industries. He is excited to learn more about how Nielsen data can help clients make better decisions.

Davis holds a B.S.B.A in financial management from the University of Arkansas. He is currently following the finance track in the MBA program.

Gina Monaldi

Internship with Henkel

Gina MonaldiGina Monaldi first learned about Henkel at Walton MBA Career Day. As a Walton MBA corporate partner, Henkel, along with several other employers, presented to MBA students about their company and available internship positions.

Monaldi will rotate through three different departments during her time at Henkel: sales, category development, and customer operations/supply chain. She hopes to take away a better understanding of how businesses like Henkel operate.

Monaldi holds a B.S. in business administration management and a B.A. in international studies from the University of Missouri. She is following the entrepreneurship track in the MBA program.

Cara Woelffer

Internship with Mars Petcare

Cara WoelfferCara Woelffer credits Walton MBA for helping her secure her internship, saying, “By the time interviews came along, the people at Mars Petcare were already familiar faces.” Woelffer met with Mars Petcare prior to interviewing for her internship at Corporate Conversations during Professional Development and Walton MBA Career Day.

“This position is a great opportunity to explore many areas of business,” Woelffer said. She will spend 10+ weeks in different rotations, such as sales, category management, marketing, supply chain, and finance.

Woelffer holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of Arkansas. She is following the retail marketing/management track in the MBA program.
