Sydney Combs (Walton MBA ’24) has a professional background in consulting and is completing a
custom track in management, financial markets and data analytics.
TRANSFORM: The most transformative part of the program for Sydney has been her classes.
“The high level of academic expectation for this program has been extremely rewarding,”
she says. “After countless hours spent each semester on projects, presentations, and
exams I have felt both extremely rewarded and proud of my achievements as well as
feeling like I have a good general grasp of any given topic we have covered.”
ADVANCE: Sydney decided to pursue an MBA to advance her career. “After working in
the public sector (U.S Senate), I realized that furthering my education would be the
best way to build on the experience I gained there and further my professional capabilities
and gain new skills,” she reflects. “I knew many graduates of the program who spoke
to how the program improved their careers over the years, and I knew the staff are
nationally and globally recognized academics that lead in various aspects of their
specialties.”
LEAD: “Professionally, I am driven by the many challenges I believe my generation
will face in the coming decades. It excites me that people my age will be on the forefront
of handling these challenges and coming up with innovative ways to address them,”
she states. “Personally, I am driven by the desire to do good and better those around
me, as well as my abilities to face and resolve challenges.”
Outside of school, Sydney is passionate about volunteerism, travel, cooking and live
music. Her favorite podcasts are “On Purpose” for conversations that share wisdom
and “Huberman Lab” for fostering good health.
