Walton Executive MBA graduate Stephanie Danielle Martinez (EMBA ’19) shares her experience in the EMBA program and her entrepreneurial inspiration and drive.
“I chose the Walton EMBA program to broaden my horizons with esteemed professors and an unparalleled opportunity to network with some of the best and brightest in the corporate world,” Martinez said. Her favorite class during the program was Dr. Hofer’s supply chain class. “Consequently, my new job after the EMBA program has me managing the supply chain process for my team,” she said.
The Walton EMBA program adds value to students personal and professional goals to achieve their life/career aspirations. Martinez professional goals are “to never stop learning, be a servant leader, and operate within my moral code.”
“Ultimately, with the skills and knowledge from the EMBA program, I’ve been able to contribute significant value to my team while adapting during an unprecedented time,” Martinez said.
Martinez also operates other business ventures outside of her Walmart sales team and replenishment job. She is launching an online jewelry business this year, and recently closed on her first rental property in Rogers! She operates a private yoga class, creates artisan, hand-painted chocolate truffles, and manages events and weddings. Martinez praises key people who inspired her to become an entrepreneur.
“Definitely my friends and family have given me the courage and support to do anything I can dream, but I must also credit a former boss with whom I spent nine years helping grow his entrepreneurial business. I learned so much from his complete embodiment of the American dream. He immigrated to this country when he was nine, spoke no English, and through strategic thinking and hard work was wildly financially successful before he was 20 years old. From him I learned the most important rule of entrepreneurship: don’t be afraid to take risks,” Martinez said.
Outside of work, Martinez is passionate about yoga and outdoor activities.
“Teaching yoga is definitely a passion of mine. I love to share my practice and guide those who are nervous to begin or are intimidated by large classes. There are so many physical and mental benefits from yoga. I love fitness and outdoor fun, like hiking, kayaking and mountain biking,” Martinez said.
