Orientation: Parents and Supporters

Orientation Extra:
For Parents and Supporters

Parents and supporters are a big part of every students’ success. We know that no one knows your student quite like you do, and we are certain that you will always be their biggest advocate. We look forward to joining your team and being part of your student’s and your family’s college journey.

While the transition to college is a time for students to learn to advocate for themselves, we hope that you will continue to be part of the conversation by encouraging your student to discuss their academic journey with you. Pointing your student back to campus resources and allowing them to navigate new processes on their own is one of the best ways you can help your student grow into a confident and professional young adult.

We hope that you will watch the videos in the other sections of the Walton Pre-Orientation Tutorial with your student and that you will discuss your family’s expectations with them prior to the start of classes in the fall.

We also know that you may have some additional questions, so we have prepared the videos on this page with you in mind.
