Finding the Right Faculty Mentor Matters Most
The most important factor in choosing a Ph.D. program is identifying faculty whose
research interests align with your own.
At Walton, doctoral students work closely with faculty mentors throughout their program,
collaborating on research projects, conference presentations, and scholarly publications.
As you evaluate programs, we encourage you to:
- Explore faculty research interests and recent publications
- Consider which research topics and questions most interest you
- Identify faculty whose work aligns with your academic goals.
Understanding the Admissions Process
Applications are reviewed holistically by each department's admissions committee after a complete application has been submitted.
Required Application Materials
- Transcripts
- Résumé or CV
- Statement of Purpose
- Letters of Recommendation
- Official GMAT or GRE scores
Important Information
- GMAT or GRE requirements cannot be waived
- Application fees cannot be waived
- Admissions committees do not provide preliminary evaluations or eligibility assessments before an application is submitted
- A complete application is required before a department can conduct a full review
