Here’s a reminder from Jeff Amerine:
Apply to be an Arkansas Fellow
The Arkansas Fellowship (www.arkansasfellowship.org) is designed to keep and attract top talent. Funded by Fifty for the Future, the Northwest Arkansas Council, and Winrock International and modeled after a successful program in Indiana called the Orr Fellowship (www.orrfellowship.org), the Arkansas Fellowship identifies and recruits the most promising graduates at Arkansas colleges and universities and keeps them in the state through networking, mentorship, and career enrichment activities.
The program launched in 2014 with an inaugural class of 11 Fellows, and it welcomes applications for its second class.
Here’s how it works: The Arkansas Fellowship invites applications from thousands of graduating seniors and reviews them to identify the very best. Our team will rigorously vet the applicants and select a small group of finalists. Then the finalists and the host companies participate in a day of interviews and a match process determines the outcome. The Fellows and host companies make a two-year commitment at a $40,000 annual salary, and the Arkansas Fellowship will organize the supplemental activities that will connect and root the Fellows in the community.
This is a proven way to find and keep the best in-state talent while making a socially responsible contribution to the further economic development of Arkansas. Our state suffers when our most promising young people leave for other opportunities, and this is an efficient and effective way to turn that around by connecting great talent with great companies.
The application deadline is Oct. 17, 2014, and the selection process will be complete by Nov. 21, 2014.
