Getting to Barnhill Arena
Barnhill Arena is a 10,000-seat multipurpose arena, now used primarily for volleyball
and gymnastics. The arena was home to the University of Arkansas Razorbacks basketball
teams before they moved to Bud Walton Arena in 1993. Barnhill Arena is located between

From the South: Take I-40 to I-540 North (exit 12), from I-540 North to West 6th Street/MLK
Blvd. (Exit 62). Turn right (heading east) onto West 6th Street/MLK Blvd.; turn left
onto Razorback Road; continue heading north on Razorback Road. Barnhill Arena is located
on the access road off Meadow Street, just north of John McDonnell Field.
From the North: After Bella Vista, take I-540 South all the way to Fayetteville, from
I-540 South to West 6th Street/MLK Blvd. (Exit 62). Turn left (heading east) onto
West 6th Street/MLK Blvd.; turn left onto Razorback Road; continue heading north on
Razorback Road. Barnhill Arena is located on the access road off Meadow Street, just
north of John McDonnell Field.
From the East: Take Hwy 412 to I-540. See directions from north.
From the West: Take Hwy 412 east to I-540. See directions from north.
Parking
On commencement day, there will be limited parking adjacent to Barnhill Arena (JBAR
on the map) and is designated for persons working at the commencement ceremony. Graduates
and guests may park in the Stadium Avenue Garage (SDPG on the map), the Stadium Lot
(Lot 44) or Lots 72 and 73 (West of Barnhill Arena).

Seating
All guests must enter the seating area through the stairways on the North, East and
South entrances. Only those persons with mobility impairments will be allowed to enter
through the floor level and/or have access to seating at the floor level (see additional
instructions regarding mobility impairment). All graduates and guests who are carrying
camcorder cases, camera cases, or other bags may be searched at the door. We recommend
that you do not bring backpacks, large bags, or additional items that may delay entry
into Barnhill Arena. Graduates must leave personal belongings with family and friends
since you will not be allowed to carry items during the ceremony.
Pictures
A professional photographer will be taking pictures during the awarding of diplomas
and he will contact you later to arrange for prints. We invite family and friends
to feel free to use cameras.
Persons with Mobility Impairments
Graduates or guests with mobility impairment may be DROPPED OFF by entering the South
entrance of Barnhill Arena (Lot 59) off Meadow Street. Upon drop off, cars may park
in the Stadium Avenue Garage (Union Parking Deck), the Stadium Lot (Lot 44), or Lots
72 and 73 (West of Barnhill Arena). LIMITED special seating will be available at court
level – Barnhill does not have an elevator so all persons with mobility impairment
should plan to enter on the NORTHWEST side of Barnhill Arena. In addition, due to
the limited disabled seating, persons with disabilities will only have access to one
additional seat per disabled person. We recommend that guests with mobility impairment
arrive no later than 11:45am. Doors open at 10:00am. For further questions regarding
