After 40 years of service to the University  of Arkansas, the Walton College, and the Department of Economics, Susan Yell, administrative support supervisor, has decided to retire.

With a career that spans multiple faculty members and department chairs, you could argue that Susan has molded the modern Department of Economics. Every faculty member, past and present, can talk of times when Susan has been invaluable to the success of their efforts.  Susan’s departure is going to leave a void in the hearts of the economics faculty and our department’s operation that is going to be hard to fill.

Never being one to seek attention, Susan has insisted that the annual Economics and Management Holiday Party serve as her retirement reception. The event will be on Wednesday, Dec. 14  from 2–4 p.m. in the Hembree Room in Willard J. Walker Hall (WJWH 203).  Remarks begin at 2:30 p.m. Please join us to celebrate Susan Yell’s 40 years of contributions to the Department of Economics, the Walton College, and the University.
