First released in 2011, the State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report is viewed as one of the best measures of the area’s economy, comparing peer regions such as Madison, Wis.; Raleigh, N.C.; Provo-Orem, Utah; Des Moines, Iowa; and Austin, Texas.
Mervin Jebaraj, the director of CBER, will share economic data from CBER's Quarterly Business Analysis.
Minah Hall, principal at VisionFirst Advisors, a national economic development consulting firm, will offer a high-level look at how companies evaluate regions when making location and expansion decisions. Drawing from more than 25 years of experience guiding Fortune 500, mid-sized and emerging companies through the site selection and incentives process, Hall will outline what makes regions competitive, from infrastructure and site readiness to workforce and collaboration. She will discuss how advancing regions across the country work together to attract investment, why regional cooperation tools like the proposed Industrial Development Authority matter, and how transportation and talent factor into long-term economic success.
