The Innovation and Entrepreneurship major is designed for students who intend to start new for-profit or non-profit ventures, manage and grow small businesses, or enter the workforce with an entrepreneurial mindset and skills in innovation and technology commercialization.

Our new department with its diverse faculty and continuously-evolving curriculum is completely unique in the higher education world today and one of many reasons that the Walton College is considered a top choice for business and non-business majors alike who think they may want to be in their own business someday. Many students choose it as a second major or as a minor.
The program is unique in that it caters to students who don’t want to wait for graduation to start their venture or work on innovative projects. Many, in fact, use class projects and competitions as a launching pad for starting a business while still in college. That’s one way the program gives students flexibility and latitude to create an educational experience around projects that are personal to them.
