STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Destiny Posey (Walton MBA ’23)
Destiny Posey graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2021 with a bachelor's
degree in accounting. She’s currently pursuing her Walton MBA with a concentration
in entrepreneurship and works as a graduate assistant in the McMillon Innovation Studio.
Destiny decided to pursue her MBA to round out her knowledge of various business sectors
including finance, supply chain and business analytics. “I chose the Walton MBA program
to build new relationships and connections with business professionals in the area,”
says Posey. “I think Northwest Arkansas is a great starting place for a career because
of all the opportunities presented.”
The most transformative part of the program for Destiny was her global immersion experience
in Chile. “This experience taught me how to quickly adapt in an unfamiliar environment
and to be willing to learn the practices of people who have different cultures,” says
Destiny. “Sometimes we get caught up in the world we live in and don't take time to
learn about others.”
Destiny says the Walton MBA program has increased her ability to work effectively
with other people and enhanced her leadership capabilities. ”I am able to communicate
and present my finding for a specific project in a confident and concise way. I can
carry these skills with me to the business world and throughout my career.“
Destiny likes learning to cook and bake new things and hearing other people’s stories.
She is currently involved with the E.S.T.E.E.M. Program, a local non-profit helping
teens and women build confidence in their skillsets.
Way to go, Destiny!
